Recently I finished Reading video game of the year

By Jason Minor Jordon Minor. And in the book he has a page about The Atari video game E.T. And not because it was a good game.

So It made me remember that I had E.T. for the Atari. I believe I got it as a birthday present. I have no idea why I did not get the receipt and return it to the store like everyone else probably did.

I do remember playing the game and falling into the caves or holes in the ground and spending a lot of time floating up and out.

Today I decided to look up gameplay walkthrough videos of the game and I was surprised that people had actually made them. And I was surprised that there were people out there how had beat the game. I never came close to completing the game.

And another thing that surprised me is that It only takes a few minutes to collect all the things you need to collect. Yeah it does not look like its much fun.

I watched some videos

actually 2 videos about the Atari VCS. I either knew and forgot or never knew that atari was coming out with a new console.

I felt sad after watching a review of the vcs. Because it does not seem that great. The hardware I guess was OK, but, not for the price Atari is charging. And there does not see any reason to get it to play a game that I can’t play on another platform.

It not like Atari has a game like Mario that I can only play on a nintendo console. Or a halo that I can only play on an xbox.

I suppose I was hoping that the Atari VCS would be great and it seems so so. The only reason I would get a VCS is to say that I bought an Atari.

I looked at

Stella an Atari 2600 emulator. I have it installed on my computer but, I don’t think I have ever used it much. I looked at how to play games with Stella. I also watched a video about how to make an Atari 2600 video game.

Years ago when I learned about Stella I wanted to make an Atari 2600 game for it. I think I read somewhere that programming for the Atari 2600 was tough and that I should develop games for other systems fist.

I did read some of the documentation for how to program in the basic language that can be used to make games to run on Stella I never got around to making an Atari 2600 video game. I don’t know if I ever will.

Playing Zx spectrum video games made me realize tat video games don’t have to have great graphics to be fun. The games for the Zx spectrum may look better than Atari 2600 games I am not sure.

So I want to put making an Atari 2600 game on my long list of things I want to do.

I can’t think of any other

games that I had for the Atari 2600. I wonder what would have happened with those games if I had taken video gaming seriously. Could I have gone pro. I am sure not. I don’t think I ever tried to get good at a game like pacman.

I must have thought that there are people good at playing video games and I was not one of those people. I don’t know of a game I wish I had had for the Atari 2600.

I don’t know  very much about the games I played on the Atari 2600. I know almost nothing about any other games for the Atari 2600. Back then I never read a video game magazine, or watch a TV show about video games.

All I can remember from that time is I used to get up early in the morning on Saturdays to watch a fictional program about computers. I cant ever remember the name of the show. I can’t even remember much about the show. I just know it was about a computer.

Real sports baseball Atari 2600

I was just thinking that baseball for the Atari 2600 was one of the games I played a lot for that console. Then I thought don’t I say that about all the games I played on the console.

I remember playing the game. i don’t remember how good I was at the game. I was probably not very good. I don’t know a lot about the game.

How many levels were there? Could I beat the game? I don’t even know if I made it though a complete game.

I thought it was more realistic than either real sports football or basketball. That’s all I can think of to write about the game right now.

Space Invaders, Atari 2600

I played space invaders on the Atari 2600. I played the game but, I was not good. The best I could do was maybe on a good day make it to the second level of the game. I have no idea how many levels the game has. I don’t even remember the highest score I got. It was probably not very high.

I probably hit more of the 3 objects that are still than any of the moving space invaders. Maybe I could have practiced more. It probably would not have helped.

To me it did not matter that the graphics were not that realistic. I liked the sound of the space invaders moving on their march toward the ground.

Volleyball Atari 2600

I played Real sports volleyball on the Atari 2600. It was probably the game I played the most on the console. I don’t remember how good I was at it. All I remember is that I had fun playing the game.

I don’t know anything about the game. By that I mean I don’t know how many games a person needed to win to beat the game or even if I could have beaten the game. I do remember that there you could choose two or four players per side. I like two players per side.

I liked the sound that the game made when I hit the ball with a player. It was so fun to play.

Football: Atari 2600

I played football on Atari 2600 a lot. I think the game was a on 8. You would not confuse the football you see on TV with Atari football. I was good at playing the game because you did not have to have any skill to beat the computer.

I never thought about it before but, how many game did you have to win to beat the game. Could you beat the game? Was there a season of 16 games? I am not even sure if I played through a whole game.

So many questions. I have no answers.

BasketBall: Atari 2600

Today I am going to write about Atari 2600 basketball. I always want to write more about the games but, I can’t think of anything. I will do my best that is all I can asked my myself, probably.

I thought about Atari 2600 basketball. The ball that the players dribble remind me of a sugar cube. I remember playing the game. I just don’t remember if I was good at playing the game. I probably was not good at playing the game.

For the Atari 2600 games I had the no sports games looked better than the sports games.

That is all I have to write about Atari basketball for now.

Atari 2600: Frogger

One of my favorite games for the Atari 2600 was Frogger. To me it did not matter that the graphics were not that great. I enjoyed playing frogger but, I did not get past maybe the 2nd level.

It was fun trying to make it past the cars and then go onto the logs. My favorite sound in the game was when the frog died. Which happened a lot when I played the game.

That’s all I have to write about frogger for the Atari 2600.
