I want to get back to drawing everyday

For a year or so I drew almost everyday. Because I wanted to be great at drawing or ate least get better at it. However that was about 3 years or so ago. I have not drawn much since.

Probably because I spend to much of my free time reading. There is more to life than reading. I want to get better at drawing.

I am not sure yet exactly what I want to draw. Maybe insects, plants, nature.

Oh, and I also want to get better at photography. I am sure it would be fun to take pictures of flowers, bees, bugs and nature.

I suppose I think that if I wish that I want to get better at drawing and photography I will get better at it. What need to do is practice.

I also want to get better at science. Biology, physics, math, chemistry. I am not very knowledgeable about all of those subjects.

A few years ago I used to draw everyday

I did not spend much time drawing everyday but, I did make sure I drew everyday. It was only sketching. Now though I don’t draw at all.

I worry about reading in my free time than drawing even though I tell myself I want to cut down on my reading so I can focus on my sketching or drawing. Because I have always wanted to be good at drawing.

And I am not going to get better at drawing by only wishing I could draw. I need practice. The way I see it is that when I read I have my head down staring at a book. Oblivious to the world around me.

When I am sketching or drawing unless I am drawing from a book or magazine I will have my head up and can pay attention to what is going on around me.

So this year I hope to get back to drawing everyday. And not just sketching like I used to. I want to make a drawing. A real drawing that someone somewhere might like.

Have I said that I want to

draw RC vehicles. Probably. Oh, well. I think it would be fun to draw RC vehicles. I never drew any of my RC vehicles. It never crossed my mind. I wish it had. I am sure I would have fun drawing them. I think that drawing them would be more fun than drawing cars.

I am sure I would have had fun drawing my hawk and hornet and there transmitters.

I am glad I took the chance and

began to draw. Its more like sketching. If I had never decided to sketch I would never had the fun that I have while sketching. If I had kept telling myself that I could not draw.

I used notebooks to draw in and a pencil to draw with. So is a fun and inexpensive hobby for me. I many never be the best artist ever. I draw that is what matters to me. I want to be the best. If I am not that is OK. I will try my best to be the best. That is all I can do.

Drawing, is another one of my hobbies

For years. Ever since I was young I wanted to draw. I remember one time I saw a friends drawing and though I wish I could draw that good. Then I must have thought you could never draw anything like that. You can’t draw.

So I very rarely picked up a pen or a pencil and drew. I thought that some people could draw. And there were people like me who could not draw.

Back in 2010 i drew probably everyday for several months. And up to that point that was not most sustained period of my ever having drawn.. Then I gave up drawing for about 3 years. I probably figured I was not good enough to draw.

So I had to have a sketchbook. I had wanted one for awhile. Then I got one. And I drew in it. And since 2013 I have been drawing sometimes everyday. Though there have been weeks or month in that period that I never touched a sketchbook to draw in it.

Now I am back to drawing more like sketching everyday. I hope I keep it up.

One tip that I really like was in a book I read about a storyboard artist for movies. He said to practice drawing you can take tracing paper and put it over say a picture in a magazine and trace the picture.

He also said you could practice by using a computer and tracing over images on the computer.

I thought that was the greatest drawing tip I had ever read. Place tracing paper over a picture and trace it. Its sure a lot more fun to practice than sitting there and trying to draw a object freehand and ending up with a lamp that looks like a television.

Even in my younger days I remember tracing with tracing paper. I am sure I would be a better artist now if I would have known that sure go ahead a practice drawing by tracing over objects in pictures. Then once I got enough practice tracing I am sure I would be able to draw the object free hand.
