I finished lesson 9

of microsoft web development for beginners. Its about using CSS to style the Terrarium.

I was able to get the images to go to the sides of the screen but, I could not get the jar in the center of the screen. I figure its because palemoon does not support the CSS in the lessor of I have mistakes that I have not found yet.

So I decided to use hr tabs for the bottom and top of the jar. And so now there are lines at the top and bottom of the jar. So I am hoping that will be good enough so that I can finish lesson 10.

I emptied out my email

inbox. I always like a clean inbox.

I read through the emails. I was saving to read and I made folders for the emails I wanted to save. So now my inbox is empty. Well at least it was yesterday when I turned off my computer. I am sure its got more emails in it today.

I also try to make sure I only subscribe to newsletters I want to read so that I don’t get to many emails to read. I don’t want to spend a lot of time reading email. I don’t like email that much.

My favorite sweepstakes websites

My favorite sweepstakes websites are: sweepstakes advantage, sweeties sweepstakes, contest queen.

Sweepstakes advantage is a sweepstakes aggregator with many many many sweepstakes to enter. Its the website I use the most to find sweepstakes to enter.

Sweepstakes sweepstakes offers a free ebook called sweepstakes 101. Its about how to get started entering sweepstakes. The website also lists sweepstakes to enter.

The contest queen has information about entering sweepstakes. She also lists a few contests.

Entering sweepstakes

is another hobby of mine. I started entering sweepstakes in October 2007. I am not sure of the exact month or the exact date. I am sure that the year was 2007.

I was convinced that I would never win a price. I always told myself that I bet I could enter sweepstakes for 30 years and never win a prize. There was no way I would ever win a prize as far as I was concerned.

It only took to months of entering sweepstakes on the internet for me to finally get my first win. It was from an Armor All instant win sweepstakes. An instant win sweepstakes is where you can win a prize instantly if you win you get a web page that says you are a winner. And if you don’t you get a web page that says you are not a winner.

I was surprised when I got a you are a winner page. I went right to the next sweepstakes in my list of sweepstakes to enter. But, I did see that I had gotten the you are a winner page. I think I tired to go back to that page but, could not. I thought i had cost myself a prize. I thought I might have needed to put in information. I was upset.

But, I had not cost myself a prize. I got my Tony Steward Armor All hat a few weeks later. And what a thrill to get something that I did not have to pay for. All I had to do was spend time on my computer filling in forms.

Finally I get to use kaggle

Finally kaggle loaded in palemoon. I have not been able to use kaggle for awhile maybe it was two or 3 weeks because it would not load in palemoon.

I tried to get kaggle to load every day but, no dice. I even checked one of those side where you can checked if a website is only down for you or if its really down. The website I went to said kaggle was working. So I was at a loss as to why I could not load kaggle.

And then yesterday I tried and was elated to find that the website loaded. So I don’t know why it did not work before but, it works now. So I went started working on one of their courses.

Machine learning is so hard for me right now. Its hard to believe that I will ever be able to learn it. But, I will keep trying.

I also watched two ken Lee videos one was about predicting season long NBA wins and the other video about The best way to predict NBA minutes played. And both of those videos he uses machine learning to predict season wins and minutes played. He uses a dataset from kaggle. I did not understand much of what I watched in the video but, someday I hope to.

I am not into fantasy sports like Ken Lee is but, I do follow any NBA team. And how cool is it that I can use machine learning to try to predicted things from the NBA. Very cool.

What I am up to

I am trying to work my way though Microsoft’s web development for beginners. One thing I learned about from the accessibility lesson was to think about how screen readers might read my web page.

Another thing I am working my way though is 130 machine learning projects solved and explained. i am on the time series project right now. I don’t know how many projects I will be able to get through but, I will try to get through them all. Its fun following along with the projects even though I have trouble getting some of the code to work. The version of anaconda I use to follow along with the projects is not the newest version. So I figure that is why some code does not work for me. Machine learning is fun.

I found the microsoft web development course in Front end focus newsletter. I learned about 130 machine learning projects solved and explained from Data elixir newsletter which I learned about from Data School.
