I was able to get through it. I did not mess it up. Yay for me.
I still don’t think I will ever be good at blender material or geometry nodes but, hopefully if I keep practicing by making my own projects and trying tutorials one day I will get better.
For that matter I think I will never get good at blender. But, I want to be great at blender. So I will keep trying to get better.
I have read it all the way through once before but, never made a character. The second time I read the book I only made it through 48 pages. And I hope the 3rd times a charm.
I hope to read the book all the way through and make a character in blender this time. I am also practicing all the modeling tools in chapter 6.
I was just trying shift while selecting clicking the vertex, edge, and face select icons on the view port header. Then I pressed the 1,2,3 keys while holding shift and was able to do the same thing.
Its fun to be able to select a vertex, edge, or face and not need to always press 1,2,3.
Since I am never going to learn how to use blender if I don’t use blender.
I am working on my basketball court model. Making the chain link fence which is fun. I never payed much attention to how chain link fences looked until I started working on the chain link fence in blender.
I also made the basketball court bigger.
And I am also working my way through the cgBoost apple tutorial. I got stuck on the texture painting. For some reason I could got get the texture to paint on the knife and apple models. So I will put some material on them.
It was frustrating not being able to texture paint. But, now I know what I need to learn better.

I am modeling an apple utility knife instead of the knife in the video. I also want to make the apples Granny Smith. I like green.
or materials nodes in blender which is why I shied away from using them in blender. But, who know with enough practice I might get good at nodes. I figure I have to keep at it and keep trying and maybe one day I will be great with nodes. I hope
I have know about vim for years but, I have not used it much. I did use it today though to follow along with a python tkinter tutorial, and I also followed along with a vim tutorial.
I learned how to open tabs, use regular expressions, move the cursor to words, ends of words, paragraphs.
I wonder if I will remember what I learned today tomorrow.
