When I was younger I

Collected baseball cards. I got them in backs. and I even bought 2 sets of cads. I might have even had some basketball and football cards. I don’t recall ever having any hockey cards.

I can’t remember the 2 full sets of baseball cards I had. All I remember that that they were from the 1980’s

I also collected baseball cards in packs. I think the ones I collected were donruss. Those were probably from 1990. I had almost all the cards to complete a set. I think I was missing 2 cards

The other baseball cards I collected were topps. I always liked getting the packs of topps cards because they had a piece of chewing gum in them. I don’t know what year the topps cards were.

I don’t know how long I collected baseball cards. I do remember that I put the cards in clean plastic sheets that had pockets in them. I would put the plastic sheets inside a binder.

I suppose I had fun collecting baseball cards. I did not know much about their value back then. And I never remember selling any.

I don’t remember when I stopped collecting baseball cards or why I stopped collecting them. All I know is that I did stop collecting them.

I have not welded

in years. I was never a very good welder. I only made small little things, signs and stuff like that. I have never arc welded, tig welded or mig welded.

I am not sure what I would want to weld. I do thinking being able to weld is so cool. So hopefully I weld again.

I always think its verbenia

but, its verbena. I don’t know how I got verbenia stuck in my head. I will have to remember verbena. I can do it. One of my favorite plants is wild verbena. I like the purple flowers. And I like that bumble bees and butterflies like it.

I want to remember the scientific names for plants. I can do it. I can.

I watched a video about watermelon

And that made me think that that is how I got interesting in growing plants. I took the seeds I got out of watermelons had eaten and put dirt in 4 inch pots, then I put the watermelon seeds in the 4 inch pots. The seeds did sprout.

Unfortunately it was later summer or early fall so there was no way that I was going to get watermelons from those seeds. Its obvious that I was not the valedictorian of my graduating class because I planted watermelon seeds that late and thought they would grown melons. What was I thinking.

That was over a quarter century ago. I feel so old.

Watching the watermelon video I learned that there is a variety of mini watermelon. I also learned that yellow and orange watermelons are sweater than the red fleshed watermelons.

I remember years ago I saw a variety of watermelon called moon yellow flesh. I thought the yellow flesh looked so amazing. I wanted to grow that variety but, never did. I think we did grow watermelons one year. I can’t remember exactly.

I saw an NHK show talking about eggplant

in Japan. I had never thought anything about japan growing eggplant. Never crossed my mind.

IN the show the went to a farm that grew a green skin eggplant that would be eaten raw. The host of the show at it like an apple.

The show also talked about several other varieties of eggplant. Which I can’t remember the name of.

While watching the show I though I wonder if I have ever eaten an eggplant? I don’t know. I might have tried to grow eggplants. I don’t remember.

So I wondered what an eggplant tastes like. I think an eggplant would be bland to eat. So maybe someday I will try eggplant.

That reminds me that on the show they showed a roof tile factory. and the workers in the factory ate pickled eggplant. The eggplant was pickled in the same clay that the roof tiles were made from.

To pickle the eggplant clay was put in a bucket, water was added and then some salt. The mixtures was stirred together. Then the eggplant was buried in the clay. A weight was put on top of the clay. The eggplant sat in the clay for a day or so and then they were ready. I never that that eggplant could be pickled in clay. How cool is that.

Years ago I had a regular dart board

And I also had a dart board that was fabric and had sticky balls. I have forgotten about it. I think I had only one. It had the image of optimums prime on it. The balls were yellow plastic and the sticky stuff on the balls was red. I don’t think I used it much.

I was thinking about it and I would rather have a sticky ball dart board than a dart board with real darts. It would eliminate the chance that a stray dart would hit and destroy an item I do not want it to destroy.

I don’t know what ever happened to the dart board. Hmm.

Its between pineapple and peaches for my favorite fruit

I have not grown either pineapple or peaches.

In my life I mostly have eaten canned pineapple. I have eaten fresh pineapple a few times I am sure. That was year ago. I don’t remember if it tasted a lot better than canned. It probably did. I hope to grown pineapple so I can have my own fresh pineapple.

As for peaches I have never grown a peach tree. In my life I have mostly eaten canned peaches. I have eaten fresh peaches a few times. I am sure the fresh peaches tasted better than canned. One day I hope to grown my own peach tree so I can have fresh peaches. And I could put whipped cream on the them. Yum.

I also like canned pears. In my life I have mostly eaten canned pears. I know I have eaten a fresh pear at least one time. And I hope to grow a pear tree.

One fruit that is not my favorite to eat is apples. I have never cared much for that. I do apple cider though. And apple pies are not bad. Apple pie with ice cream or whipped cream. Yummy.
