Battle zone is an Atari 2600

game I played a lot. I don’t remember how much I played it but, play it I did.

Its another video game that I was not good at. That did not stop me from playing it. I don’t know much about the game. I don’t know how many levels it had.

I thought that Atari 2600 games never ended but, maybe they did. But, the way I played them there was no hope of me getting to the end of any game.

I liked the sound of the tank you drive in battle zone. I also like the radar that showed you where the enemies were. The enemy I remember most was the white plane that would fly at the tank. I also liked the sound of the plane.

I have read that battle zone was one of the more popular or better games for the Atari 2600.

It is one of my favorites I know that for sure.

Pitfall Atari 2600

As I remember it I got pitfall for the Atari 2600 as a birthday present when I was young.  I have read that it was one of the better Atari 2600 games.

I played the game but, I never know what I was supposed to do. I have no idea how many levels the game has. I am sure I got nowhere near beating the game. I did like the game.

I liked swinging from the rope over the lakes that if you fell in you died. I think they were lakes. If anyone has read any of my blog by now you know I was not destined to be a professional video game player. The controller was not my friend.

I am a terrible video game player. Maybe I need to think about the games I am playing. There are worse things in the world than being bad at playing video games. But, I want to be a great video game player. Maybe there is hope for me yet.

Stella: Atari 2600 emulator

At one time I had dreams of making an Atari 2600 game for Stella an Atari 2600 emulator. And that dream came to nothing.

i think I downloaded some documentation. I maybe read a page or two. And then promptly forgot about Stella. I read somewhere that there was a better possibility of selling a game if you made games for vintage. Something to that effect.

Sure that may or may not be true. I do know one thing for certain and that is the fact that I have not made any video games means that I can’t sell any video games that I made because I have never made a video game.

I do think it would be fun to make a game for the Atari 2600. So that I can say I made one. If I will ever make one I don’t know? I can always try.

Donkey kong: Atari 2600

Until yesterday I had forgotten that i had Donkey Kong for the Atari 2600. It was one of my favorite Atari 2600 games. i think I spent a lot of time playing it. Climbing the ropes was fun. I liked the sound effect when Donkey Kong climbed the ropes.

I don’t know how many levels the game had. One thing I am sure of is that I did not get through all the levels of the game. Not even close.

I didn’t know much about the game and still don’t.

I got E.T. the Atari 2600 game as a birthday

present. That is the way I remember it. I remember playing the games a few times. I liked the noise and the sight of the spaceship when it dropped from the sky and landed at the beginning of the game.

I had no clue about how to play the game. What was I supposed to be doing? What was the objective? I had no idea. I wold walk around and fall into pits. I don’t know what they were called. And then I would press the button on the controller to make ET rise out of the pit. AT least I figured out how to get ET out of the pit.

Maybe I should have left the game on the start screen so I could listen to the music instead of trying to play the game.

So to sum up I liked the sound effects of E.T. for the Atari 2600 but, had no clue about what I was supposed to do in the game.Maybe I should have tried to figure out what to do in the game more. Gave it more thought.

Today I want to talk about pacman

on the Atari 2600 I read in 100 best video game characters that pacman had 255 levels. I don’t know how many levels the Atari 2600 pacman had but, I am sure it had more levels than the ones I was able go get past.

I probably only got past level 2. I was not good. Of course I never thought much about how I could be better at the game.

I liked the the sound of pacman eating the pellets. And when I ate one of the things that would make the ghosts blink I liked that sound. I think it was a square that made it so that the ghosts could not kill pacman.

I don’t have any special memories of playing pacman.

If I can remember anything else I want to write about pacman I will write it in another blog post.

The first game console I ever had was an

Atari 2600. I don’t remember when I got it, or why I got it. All I remember is that my parents bought it. I don’t remember playing it often but, I did play games on the console often.

Let me see if I can remember the games we had. We had battle zone, Frogger, pacMan, pit fall, E.T., football, basketball, space invaders, volleyball. As I remember it I got E.T and pitfall as birthday gifts. That is all the games I can remember right now.

The only Atari 2600 hundred video games I remember being good at were football, basketball, volleyball. I just remembered that we also had baseball. I think I was good at the sports games because they were not hard to play.

I don’t remember thinking about how to get better at the games. I played them and that was it. I did not say to myself I am not good at pacMan or space invaders so how am I going to get better. I played the games and never thought about them much when I was not playing them.
