games. Maybe I got interesting in video gaming because i had a Atari 2600. Why did I enjoy playing video games? I don’t know. Why did I give up playing video games? I don’t know. I suppose I thought I had better things to do than play video games. I never thought about the why I got interested in video games, and why I stopped playing video games. and then started playing video games again.
I cant think of anymore games
I owned for the NES. I probably wrote about most of them here on this blog. Maybe one day I will remember a game I owned. Maybe not.
There are people who think that video
games are a waste of time. I have never been one of those people. I enjoy playing video games more than I do watching moves or watching TV.
I am not sure why I do. Yes, I am. Say I play a basketball video game. I can be my favorite basketball play. Sure its not real. But, it feels real to me.
It does not make sense to me now but, I used to think about sports all the time. Worrying about trades. I used to get upset when my favorite sports team lost. And looking back it was not fun.
When I used to play video games I would get upset if I were losing, throw the controller, yell, and scream. Now I would never do that. Its better to keep calm I think.
To me video games are a release. They are fun, Sure they are only pixels on a screen. Sure I don’t want to play video games all day. Or even half the day. But, I do like playing video games after all these years. Because I find them fun. They make me feel better. And I enjoy playing them.
I wonder why I got new video games
if I did not first beat the video games I already had. when I read a book I finish the book then I get a new book to read. Sometimes I do read more than one book at a time but, I do finish the books.
With video games i rarely finished them. So why did I get a new game when I had not finished the old one? It makes no sense to me. Why not play the game until I beat it. Then get a new game.
I have no idea why I got the video games I did. I must have liked the game, or my friends had them. Or both.
I do remember reading Nintendo power magazine, and I don’t know what it was called but, it cold have been sega genesis or sega visions magazine. I doubt I read much of the magazines. I was not much of a reader back then.
Maybe I got games because I saw them in magazines? In addition to my friends owning the game and me liking the game. I will never know.
Super Mario 3
is a game I had for the NES. I can’t remember to well but, I am almost sure since I was bad at all the other games I had I must have been bad at super Mario 3.
It was one of my favorite games to play on the NES even though I was not good at it. I thought super mario 1, 2, and 3 all had good music in the games.
I remember even watching Super mario brothers the movie. I thought it was OK. What other video game movies have I seen? That might be the only one.
I wonder if I had tried to be good at super mario 3 could I have been a good player? I doubt it. I suppose it no shame. I was not good at pressing buttons unless it was pushing someones buttons. It was always easier to make someone made at me than to play video games.
I don’t have anything more to add about super mario 3 since I can’t remember much about the game.
I know when I used to play video games
When I started to do badly I yelled and screamed. No, I think that if I had stayed calm I would have done better. Remain calm.
There was no need to throw the controller and get mad. It certainly did not do the console hardware any good. I don’t recall breaking any video game equipment because I threw it.
I am also wondering what other games I had for Nintendo. I don’t think I had cubit or the legend of Zelda. But, I did play those NES games. I think I also had metroid but, did I own it. I don’t think so.
How many games did I have in all for the NES. I will think more about it.
Tetris is one of the games I had on the
NES. And its another video game that I was not good at. I wonder why I continued to play video games when I am so bad at playing them. Its a wonder to me.
I am almost sure that I did not get past the first level of Tetris. I did enjoy listening to the music in the game as I lost over and over.
I read about the creator of Testris in a book I read about video games. And its fascinating.
i must like video games a lot to be so bad at them and keep playing them. I don’t even think I thought about how to get better at the video games I played. At least for the NES. It did not hurt my pride to be bad at video games during this time in my life.
I did not say much of anything about tetris in this blog post but, I did remember I had the game on the NES. That’s a win. Or not. I don’t know.
The only piece of hardware that I needed
to replace for the nes was the power adapter. i don’t remember much. How long I had the NES before I needed a new power adapter? I think I used to leave the NES plugged in all the time. If I did that i don’t know what I was thinking. How hard is it to unplug a game console when I am done using it and then plug it back into the wall outlet when I needed to use the console again.
I wish I had kept a diary of my video game playing back then. So I could read it now and see what games I played, What games I wanted to play. How much I played video games each day.
I wonder how I got any school work done. Maybe I did not do any school work.
It would also be nice to know when I got the games. I remember I traded one game for another game. I cant remember what those games were. I wish I knew.
I wish I know what I did each day back in the day. But, I don’t remember much. Its lost in the mist of time now. Never to be known.
I always get overwhelmed
when I think about programming. So many languages to learn, so many programming books to read. So much I don’t know about programming. And there is also the question of do I want to spend the time I need to to become the programmer i want to?
I know I like video game, machine learning, and computer security; hacking. Can I even program a video game, can I make machine learning programs, can I hack websites.
Do I have enough time in my day to do all of those things everyday. Maybe not. What do I want to program the most? What will I get the most out of? What will I enjoy the most?
I try to do everything and then it seems that I never get anything done. If I think about it enough I will hopefully get an answer. I hope.
I am trying to remember which top gun
game I had for the NES. Was it top gun, or top gun 2. I do remember hearing that if you kept pressing the up button that you could get through a level or levels of top gun easily.
What I do remember is that whatever version of the game I had was that I always had trouble landing on the air craft carrier at the end of the first level. I always had fun trying to destroy the submarines that shot at you from the water. Fun. Its just that they got me more than I got them. I also liked the sounds in the game.
Even though I was not good at the game I always had fun playing it.
Why was I never good at any of the video games. I played them a lot. You would think that by playing them so much I would have gotten better at them but, no that is not the way it happened for me.
Maybe I did not analyze the game enough. Judging by how much I played video games I certainly did like playing video game. I just was not good at them.
I wonder how it would feel to play top gun now. I think I would enjoy it. What a game. Its a shame I had not talent for playing it.
