called Godot programming projects from skillshare. It took me awhile but, today I finally finished going through the course. I think its so cool that I can use godot to develop regular old computer programs as well as video games. My favorite project was the drawing application.
I read a book called superminds
and so I thought why not put some of the websites I want to remember from that book on my blog.
One website I learned about is climate colab. Its a website where people can enter their ideas to help solve climate change. There are no contests right now though.
I also learned about topcoder. Which is a website for programmers.
Another website I learned about in the book is foldit. I already knew about foldit but, have never tried it. I think I might give it a try. I am not sure I will be any good at it but, who knows.
I am now learning about Categorical variables
in the kaggle intermediate machine learning course. And I could not remember the three ways I could deal with Categorical variables. I remember that I could delete them. And I remembered the name one hot-encoding. But, no matter how hard I tried I could not remember ordinal encoding.
Ordinal encoding is where you turn the categorial variable values into numbers. Its used when there is a what is it called a order to the values.
One hot encoding is best used for a small amount of values. Its where you turn the categorical vales into numbers. You add a column for each value of the categorical variable.
I tried to remember the definitions for ordinal encoding and one-hot encoding from memory. I seem to go the definitions about right.
I want to practice practice machine learning so I can make something with it. That is the who point of learning programming so I can make a program. At least I think it is.
I read through kaggle beginning machine learning course again
Since the first time I went through it I could not remember how to do anything. So I needed to go through the course again.
Not long ago I watched some videos from a Stanford machine learning course. It was fun watching the videos but, I was lost. I did not understand the math.
In the book the secret life of programs it seemed that to do machine learning you needed to know a lot of math so I want to learn more math. I know more about math than I did several years ago but, I have a long way to go to get good at math. I will try.
I read Remember it by Nelson Dellis
I first read Remember it in 2018. Before that time I was not aware of Memory competitions. When I read the book back then I had trouble remember the see, link, go technique.
Its where you turn say a name into a picture, link it to a something you already know and go. Go is Sensory overload, Grotesque absurdity, moveable attributes.
Anyway after I finished reading Remember it in 2018 I had the intention of practicing memory techniques everyday. That did not happen. I did try using the techniques in the book to memorize a grocery list and names. That is about it.
This year after reading remember it I made a Person, action object list for the numbers 00-99 and a list of person, action, object for playing cards. I even practiced remembering the playing card list. I still have a lot of work to do. At least I am trying.
Two websites that I learned about from Remember it are art of memory and memory league. Art of memory had memory techniques.
And memory league has competitions I can compete in online. I thought how cool. So I can practice the memory techniques.
So hopefully I will get good at the memory techniques I learned in remember it.
I have said before that I want to
learn how to make machine learning programs and I also want to learn about ethical hacking. I have tried to learn how to program for years. Since the first day I could a computer really. With no success. So I figure I can’t learn both machine learning and ethical hacking at the same time or maybe I can.
Well anyway I want to learn how to make machine learning programs. I figure I want to get good at machine learning and then I will learn ethical hacking. Or maybe I will keep trying to learn machine learning and ethical hacking at the same time.
I just want to learn something that will be a useful skill.
Years ago I had a regular dart board
And I also had a dart board that was fabric and had sticky balls. I have forgotten about it. I think I had only one. It had the image of optimums prime on it. The balls were yellow plastic and the sticky stuff on the balls was red. I don’t think I used it much.
I was thinking about it and I would rather have a sticky ball dart board than a dart board with real darts. It would eliminate the chance that a stray dart would hit and destroy an item I do not want it to destroy.
I don’t know what ever happened to the dart board. Hmm.
I searched for how to make
different types of paper air planes and to my surprise there are a lot more types of paper airplanes than the one I built about a week ago. So I hope to build as many types of planes as I can.
Maybe I could make my own paper kite. I think it would be fun to make my own kite instead of buying it. And I also hope to make a paper gilder.
The list of things I want to do never ends.
Gala 88: Oatmeal Breakfast plays a video game episode 458
I did play good even in practice playing against no one. I played the dream team 3 on 3 challenge at internet archive. Thank you for visiting. Have an amazing day.
In the last post I talked about wanting to learn
how to throw a boomerang. Which I think would be fun to day. Yesterday I saw a video of how to throw a Frisbee so it would come back to me like a boomerang. And I want to try that also.
I remember when I was younger we used to throw around a Frisbee. I don’t remember being good at throwing one. We also had a juggling ring type thing to thrown around like a Frisbee. It was similar to a Frisbee but, with nothing in the center of it. Throwing those was fun.
