a website about my video games. I think
I say this is going to be the year that I learn to program. I wanted to write my own code this year except that has not happened. Sure I have written code while following along with a tutorial but, I have not written any of my own code.
So I hope that changes.
coders at work. And I learned that Dan Ingalls made lively Kernel. So I looked it up and found it on the internet. I don’t know if I will try using Lively Kernel.
The only website I have had that I made myself was years ago on geocities. I did the html and css. It was only one page and I doubt anyone ever went to it. And I never did much work after I put it up.
There are other times I have tried to make a website but, never stuck with it. Maybe I have put up one or two other simple websites but, I don’t remember that much.
So I want to put up a website. Or at least learn javascript. I have been listen to an audio book called coders at work by Lee sobeil and he talked has talked to two programmers who used javascrpt so that had got me interested in learning javascript.
So I am going to learn javascript.
with godot. I suppose when I started a blog I wanted to have one person read it. And that happened. So if I start making programs I want to have one person use a program I make. I don’t know if that will never happen but, it would be cool.
course. In a book I read called how to make a game. Which is where I found out about Godot by the way it said that you could use python with Godot or at least I thought it said that.
So to me GDscript does seem a lot like python expect from func instead of def. And probably some other differences I don’t know about. I wouldn’t consider myself a GDscript expert but, I think I know it better now.
One cool thing I learned is that I can type the variables by going var variable_name: String = “string”. You put the type of the variable after the colon. I don’t know if that can be done with python.
Next I want to go through the GDscript projects course. To me its cool that in addition to games I can also make regular programs with Godot.
I learned about Harvard CS50SFrom the godot documentation.
At least that is where I think I learned about it. Anyway the first video was fun to watch. I found it very entertaining.
After talking about how computers represent text, numbers, images the instructor demonstrates programming with scratch programming language.
I hope to watch all the videos in the course. So I hope I do that.
I sure hope I have because this year I want to make a program that someone might like to use. I know I say that every year. And every year that does not happen.
I hope to make a game with godot, and get better at machine learning, and A.I. with python and maybe make a website or other programs with pharo.
And also I hope to learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript better so I can find bugs. I still have the desire to be an ethical hacker.
I know I can make a program. And as long as I stick with a programming language long enough to learn it I think I can achieve that goal.
and pharo. I used to want to be able to program in as many programming languages as I could. That did not work for me. I ended up switching programming languages a lot and never made any program. Oh, and I don’t want to spend that much time learning programming languages.
So now I know I need to limit the number of programming languages I want to learn. And I have always wanted to learn pharo so that is a must. And I want to use python for machine learning.
Also this year I might want to try High level assembly again.
Oh, and I probably want to put up a website.
Oh, maybe that is to much on my plate. I hope I will get something programmed this year. I will see.
that this will be the year that I make a game or some other programming project. And here it is almost the end of the year and nothing.
Sure I have gone through some of the courses on kaggle. But, I have not made my own projects. Any project of mine is nowhere to be found. Because I have not made one yet. Or at least finished a project I have started.
There are still about 3 weeks to the end of there year so I have time to make a little project or at least start one so I can have something to show programming wise for 2021.
I know I want to make games, and learn more about machine learning, A.I., Data science. I know I want to get good at using python, and pharo. Now all I need to do is get to working making a project.
By Jonathan E. Steinhart. I made my way through the book. I understand some of what I read but, there was a lot that I did not understand.
I think it would be so cool to understand everything in the book. Maybe someday I will. From the building blocks of a computer all the way to programs and security.
So after reading the book I want to learn how to use vim or vi, and git. I have tried in the past but, not gotten very far. I also want to get better at math.
I also hope to make a program of my own design.
So I have got a lot I want to get done. Will I? I sure hope I will get it done.
