Astronomy

I also like astronomy. I have probably said that already. Last year I read about book about how starts, and planets are formed. The book also talked about exoplanets.

Right now I don’t know much about astronomy. Oh, this year I read a book about micrometeorites. Which I had never heard about before I saw the book. I don’t think I want to put in the work to search for micrometeorites. But, I think they are fascinating

I find it interesting to  read about exoplanets. Though I am not sure if I would do good traveling in outer space. On the other hand how cool would it be to travel to another planet and live on it for the rest of my life. Or how over long I want to live on it.

I think that star gazing would be fun. One thing I want to do is build my own telescope. Though I many never build it. Its something I think about doing.

I wish I could find an exoplanet and have it named after me. That will never happen.

I also think the ocean is just as amazing as outer space. And like outer space I want to learn more about the ocean. I am not sure I want to sail on the ocean either. I don’t know how I would do away from land.

Bees and plants

I like bees and plants. When I was younger I was not much into bees or plants. Then I got into plants and now I am also into bees. I had never given bees much thought. I never knew that there were over 20, 000 species of bees in the world.

For years the only type of bees I thought existed in was honey bees and bumble bees. I was so wrong. And I am glad I was. Maybe if I write about bees and plants it will help me remember more of what i read.

I knew bees collects nectar and pollen. I was surprised to learn that bees also collected propolis. Which if I remember right is a sticky substance that the bees collect from certain plants. Its used to seal up their hive.

And I don’t think I thought about bees needing water either. The do need water. Once I learned that I always keep forgetting that fact.

I never even considered how long bees might live. With honey bees they can live about 6 weeks during the busy season. And several months in winter. If you had asked me how long bees lived before I knew anything about bees I wonder how long I would have said bees lives. Would I have said years.

Its also surprised me that worker honey bees are female. The males are called drones, and the queen bee lays the eggs. It took me awhile before i could remember the words worker, drone and queen.

I have never kept honey bee hives. I do hope to one day. I hope I will be up to it.

Jumping rope

Another thing that I can do now that i never thought I could was jumping rope. I wonder if I can jump rope and juggle at the same time? Probably not. I wonder if I can jump rope and ride a unicycle? I wonder if I can even ride a unicycle?

I like jumping rope because all I need is a jump rope and myself. I don’t need to buy expensive equipment. I don’t need to spend years learning how to jump rope. I don’t have to spend hours jumping rope.

And ask I said I never thought I could jump rope. And now I can. I am not great at it. Its like juggling. I am not great at it but, I enjoy it.

Lite Brite

I had a light bright. I don’t know why I got it. Or when I got it. I do remember using the lite brite at least once. I don’t recall using it much. I doubt I made any interesting designs with the lights. I wonder why I got a light brite in the first place????

So I have the idea that I want

to have OatmealBreakfat star in a basketball game. Now all I need to do is make the game. Now its time for the hard part. I want OatmealBreakfast to star in as many sports games as I can make. Hockey, football, water polo, golf and sports I never never even heard of or don’t know how to play.

Making video games could force me to learn new things. I need to take the first stop and write code for my own video game. Its seems after if I will never get that done. I hope I do. If only so that I can finish a video game and know for me that I have made a video game. That would mean I accomplished a goal of mine.

I am not sure what to write about

today so I am going to start writing and see what comes out of my keyboard. I used to think I enjoyed watching movies. For me watching movies don’t make me feel as good as when I listen to music or play a video game.

So that is why I want to make music and make a video game. I can also put my music in my video game. If I ever do get around to making a video game its not likely that anyone will ever watch it.

I will be able to say I made a video game. And to me that is enough.

Chess

Chess I am going to learn how to play chess. I wonder why I want to learn how to play chess? Maybe its because it does not take much equipment. Either a computer or a chess board and chess pieces and a notebook to keep track of my moves.

I just read a short book about chess. Now I know the chess pieces are called Rook, knight, Bishop, King, Queen, pawn. Now all I need to do is play chess so I can remember some of what I have learned.

I need a chess goal. I will one one game of chess before my chess career is over. There that is my chess goal.

Slot Cars

I remember when I was very young when I got a slot car set. It was a small figure 8 track with two controllers.

Even though I did not use my slot car set that often one or two of the slot cars stopped working so I had to get new ones.

I don’t remember how long I would play with the slot cars when I did play with the slot cars. I do remember driving my car off the track. I doubt I was any better at slot cars than I am at video games.

I am not interested in slot cars anymore. Now I would rather drive RC cars around than drive slot cars on a track. Thought I would need a lot less room to have a slot car track.  Ah, I still think RC cars are more fun than slot cars.

Slinky

I have used a slinky before. I never did much with it. I wonder what things I can make a slinky do? I will have to look it up. I certainly did not make a slinky go down a lot of stairs like the scene in Ace venture when nature calls where Ace makes a slinky go down lots of stairs before he leaves the Monastery.

I have not used a slinky in years. Maybe its time to start using a slinky again. Or not. I don’t know.

Silly Putty

When I was younger I remember wanting to get silly putty. I was fascinated by silly putty.

Who wouldn’t be. If you put silly putty on a newspaper with test it will copy that text. That is all I remember at silly putty. I wonder what else silly putty can do? I will have to find out.

I finally did get some silly putty. I copied some newspaper or magazine text with it. And that is all I can remember. For all I know I only played with the silly putty one time for five minutes. And then it disappeared into my who knows where.

Silly putty seems like it might be a fun thing to learn about, and not that expensive. So I might try playing with silly putty again.
